Everytime I hear Mr Kwan uttering the phrase 'Nelly the NARrator', a little part of me dies.

So, this was the last week of the June hols.

Thursday saw Mag, Andrea, Deb, Kaili and I heading to Oomphatico at Tanglin for pretty food!! Chocolate milkshakes come with additional love juice, as Mag found out with much delight.

FINALLY SAW MIV & JO ON MONDAY

Well school's resumed and we're back to the same humdrum routine, despite the fb groups, cna polls and prayers. I still have 2970180637254374 hrs of break/week. My pe teacher still needs somebody to reach up his butthole and pull that stick out. Bt still has bts. Victor still slugs down the grand stand. Grace still cracks me up; Gab is still horny and disgusting. Nft is still midnight black with rainbow sparkles!! Most exciting changes: the scrapping of my 4hr break, the new classroom floor and T02 finally getting to sit behind dur history. So... yeah. I'm still rotting my school life away. And don't even get my started on pw! Everyone's packaging their projects to maximise appeal, ie Submerged or Shaken etc etc, but my project is about toilet water. Quite hard to package nicely. Thank you, Victor.

Side effects of school til 5 are back. Non-stop shopping + eating (rum raisin ice-cream!!) I rly hope the rest of the week crawls by because I honestly never want to get back my HEL papers. Argh chickens the regret always comes too late, doesn't it :(

Ps. Oooooooh apparently, the chances of school closing next week are pretty good. God does provide!! Amen and peace.

Done with mid-yrs. Performance is bound to be fairly pathetic, but 20% isn't going to change much... I hope.

R project pix. Most clear memory of the night: alighting at 17 Muhammad Sultan Rd instead of 72, leaving us stranded and having to cross the road in the rain. And Debra and Andrea, who couldn't tank (heehee) and left after that to go back to Debra's to fix their hair. I swear, if I wasn't grounded and went to Gotham after that I would've been sorely tempted to accompany them as well.

I didn't feel up to a T02 outing to Sentosa today so I spent the day lepaking with K & Deb. Grace told me to "wait for the pix, damn funny". Nabz why do I never get to catch the golden moments!! Or see manhunk all hot and sweaty?! T02kias/ lucky bitches, you better have drooled enough for me.

NON-CJ: Never had the experience of donning light blue pieces of shit? HA! Regretting not coming to Cloud Conc Camp now, aren't you?

On a sidenote: my Women In Love book got confiscated during the lit exam because I had 7 dog-eared pages. According to Mr Kang, "You can only have 1!!" Oh, so there's a special rule for dog-eared pages now, is there? I get the privilege of choosing the MOST SPECIAL PAGE in the ENTIRE BOOK and folding the top corner down? Amazing. And ps, if I fold 7 pages down together into one gigantic mighty dog-eared corner, is it 1 dog-eared page or 7 dog-eared pages? Are square brackets the root of all evil? Does it make one's life complete to colour circled words into highlighted chunks? Have I said the word 'dog-eared' way too many times? Meaningful questions we should all ponder about.

The best part was, I still had Kaili's exam copy of Wuthering Heights with me, but it was entirely redundant anyway because that section was passage-based. Seriously, was already feeling v v v shitty due to being down with some killer flu virus and all, and when good-old Mr Kang took my book away any desire or motivation I had to finish the paper and do well just left me entirely.

And it's not like today's econs paper was any better. I didn't do half the essay questions and case study questions. Gab and I were talking the night before and we were resigned to making up our own graphs/curves or spend 2 hrs 45 mins highlighting impt key-phrases (ie forward/backward integration, mergers, firm(s), slow wink Dayna-style etc etc), like we always do during Reganathan's stimulating pink lectures. I guess I thought I'd be motivated enough to build up my dismal hist/econs/lit knowledge over the June holidays, but once again my ADHD (gah) has triumphed. Yes, it makes me feel better to blame everything on ADHD, because then it's not my fault.

I am keeping this site, because human beings are sentimental creatures and I am a human being.

(I feel a bit sick typing the above, because the other day in KI we had to write an essay about why cyborg-humans were impossible and human beings and their sentimentality came into the picture. Do you care?)

was T02 @Maju Camp the other day

Despite looking like an assortment of better-off factory workers (fire-proof blouse) and plain shit factory workers (shirt), we really did have quite a bit of fun. Grace/ Faizal/ Miss Pretty did very well in the K9 show :) Sakae afterwards, before which we accidentally abandoned Adi’ff in the mountains to eat sushi (sorry babe).

It just dawned on me how term 2 has flown by in a swirl of twin humps, purple buckets, clouds, giant mirrors, town adventures (God no) and bjbp. I’ve noticed terms have a way of doing that. Which is why I found myself staring at my school diary today in horror, and no, not because of the bloody goose formation smacked on the cover. Mid-years are next week. I knew that all along, it just… dawned on me today.

Should have listened to Victor when he told me to do my assignments. Sometimes you don’t take him seriously because he is a slimy beng, and maybe he is. But a wise one.
Should have mastered history from the beginning.
Should poison all 50000 of CJ disciplinarians.
Should practice more maths.
Should start passing Econs.
Shouldn’t have gotten myself grounded until August.

I think we’ve only penetrated the tip of the Sick Rhyming Phrases Iceberg (the newest being Whip Me and Strip Me) so PRIZZ stay tuned.

RJ vs AC rugby finals on some friday. I was supporting RJ la dey Miv just lent me her shirt because it was hot!!

And on wed, was supposed to go to airport with Saddam Rudy Hassan to study but decided to stay at home due to inability to do work with people. Initial plan was to wake up early and study the philosophy of science. Up to 3pm, had only managed to finish half a packet of chips and read the latest issues of Hello! and Readers Digest thus far. Even picked up Zac Efron Annual 2009 in desperate attempt to postpone studying. I scored 1/10 on Zac’s Birthday Quiz; book said I need to learn more about Zac if I’m going to make him feel special on his birthday.

Am v amazed at sister’s ability to read entire book without barfing.

I always liked having a blog because previous posts are always there to help relive certain memories :) the past few months have given me so many wonderful memories; it's a bloody shame if I lost them all because I was lazy to update this thing.

O'Tiero/ Orientation @ RJ/ RI(JC)

First day of O'Tiero was... icebreakers? I will always remember having to play games like the Mental Sums Maths Maze and having to memorise the sequence of plates with words of the school song written on it. The rest were pretty standard- whacko, elope, etcetc.

Oh, and the part where the OGLs were banging and stomping the Raffles cheer and the dude in front was yelling 'UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL!!!!!!!!!!!!', after which two OGLs were supposed to yank the O'Tiero banner down and impress us all.

Unfortunately, the banner got stuck.

First day at Cloud Conc Camp

How is CJ? Let's just say the first thing I heard when I walked into class was 'JANGAN TENSION'. And there are no Communist orgies/ requests to extend class/ size 10 feet soldiers (HAHA DINESH)/ bitch civics tutors/ creepy boys who cross-dress in their spare time. But at the same time, no 7-11/ pseudo orange bowl/ bubble tea/ chocolate bars/ bloody fantastic timetable/ lifts/ awesome campus/ regular track/ lepak cru/ 1E/ JIZZ. Or any RJ people :(

It's hard to say, really. I do regret it. Everyday. But at the same time, I don't. And when it comes down to it, I didn't have much choice. I seriously, seriously miss the hospital and everything it holds though. I guess life has something for everyone. Hopefully, it'll be something good for me :)

I celebrated my best birthday ever last friday and saturday

So I'm walking through the canteen after lit class when Andrea turns to me and goes, 'Hey Nat, do you see anything... different?'

When I stare at her blankly (yes I'm an unobservant freak), she gestures vaguely. 'Anything different... on the walls... maybe scattered around... NEXT TO THAT GIANT BAYLEY-WADDLE POSTER...'

ONLY FOR ME TO FIND:

Apparently I was supposed to run around the school hysterically ripping the posters off the walls and piece tgt different letters stuck behind to find out where I was supposed to go after school. Unfortunately (or not!!) the councillors had beaten me to ripping them down. Hehehe. I love you 10A01E

We started off at thomson, followed rather dubious clues to Orchard, Bishan, Bedok, City Hall, Paya Lebar, Plaza Sing, Toa Payoh and Ang Mo Kio; were made to come up with cheers, name the current Secretary-General of the UN, solve chem and math questions; play a crazy food game then finish up all the food; walk around SMU balloon-train style; sing songs in McDonald's wink wink; REPEAT STUPID TONGUE TWISTERS OVER AND OVER THANK YOU JOEL, climb up 13 flights of stairs tied to one another and hunt for Pauline in the whole of the world's most exciting building, AMK Hub.

Ahmad, Whale and Baby stayed over on thurday and we went back to school to eat orange bowl :D so, so, so damn good. Like nothing in the world. Ivy was spectacularly disgusting, Ahmad was nasal and sick and the Baby was just gross. I love my friends :)

Twilight, Bedtime Stories and Yes Man were really quite missable. Also, I have about a gazillion photos waiting to be developed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Journey into Pulau Ubin & Chek Jawa: A Survivor's Tale

So, it was one day past Dayna's birthday, and I found myself in a cab with Dayna and Nick, talking about unfortunate chinese names (begging your pardon), haze houses (you wouldn't know), and the like (with Dayna, you can never really tell).

Anyway, we were heading to a little island off the coast of Singapore called Pulau Ubin, because it was the birthday girl's desire to cycle and explore the island. Cycle and explore the island, I ask you!! Couldn't she have just picked some nice, quiet little park?! But hey, we survived the peril-fraught trip to Chinese Gardens. What's a rocky, muddy, swampy, humid, beast-infested island compared to Chinese Gardens, right?

So we happily hopped on the boat:

As I recall, we spent the whole day yelling "$2! IS IT REAL?!?!?!?!?!" with mouths agape and very incredulous expressions.

Side Note to Dayna: work on your kid skills! Rejected by a 5-year-old; hurts, doesn't it? HA.

Once we got maps from the tourist centre, Dayna announced she wanted to go to Chek Jawa. For those who don't know, Chek Jawa, located on the easternmost tip of Pulau Ubin, is a unique coastal haven, comprising six major habitats. These are coastal forest, sandy beach, mangrove, lagoon, rubble-strewn, coral flat and a tiny island, all packed within a small area of about one square kilometre.

That is not enough!! It doesn't tell you it is crazy far and you have to pedal great lengths just to catch a glimpse! The website also claims "Singaporeans are clamouring to visit!" Really? Certainly not!! Unless 'singaporeans' means a horny sixteen-year-old BMW.

In case you do not have a clear idea of the situation...

Bicycle. Dirt track. Humid, gray day. The jungle pressing in on you. Random kampungs in said jungle. Bumps. Ruts. Mosquitoes. 100000000000000000 km. Tired. Dirt track. Dirt track. Dirt track. Slopes. Never ending, steep, unforgiving slopes.

I mean, I do have a rather passionate interest in sports (hehehe), but all this is a bit too much.

MADE IT TO BLOODY CHEK JAWA (curse you Dayna!! CURSE YOU!!!)

Yes, I was terribly thrilled.

YEAH, BITCHES!!!

Walked in, took more maps, sauntered around CJ and the coastal boardwalk. It was rather nice, I must admit.

Inspired by the pretty sights (l8r, l8r), we courageously decided to climb up Jejawi Tower and look at the view.

That's when it got fun...

With this view (hey nothing to sniff at, was pretty awesome)

IT STARED TO POUR.

So there we were, on top blasted Jejawi Tower, drenched by the howling wind and torrents of rain, not daring to climb to far up/down lest we slip down the bloody thing and fall to our death. Even running below the stairs didn't help, because JT here is made of wood and water was seeping through all the cracks and dripping like there was no tomorrow.

We were trapped with two tourists, whom I assume were 'clamouring' to see the wonders of Chek Jawa, but they made a run for it in the rain back to the tourist centre. After a while, we came to the conclusion that really, nothing could be worse than this.

"RUN!!!" yelled Dayna, entirely soaked and a bit crazy. "RUN FOR IT!!!"

So we ran for it, only to discover... the bloody tourist centre was a three-minute stroll from Jejawi Tower!!

I will leave you with this and now show you the wonders of nature.

Nah, just shitting you. We came at high tide and there weren't any swamps, creatures of the wild or sandbars to look at, so we just took these off the information boards at the Tudor House.

We did, however, manage to take a genuine picture of Singapore's only working fireplace...

...which, of course, wasn't working the day we came.

And if I thought the journey there was bad, it was pouring when we cycled back. Imagine cycling in the rain, in the jungle, on wet bicycles, on slippery, bumpy, dangerous little dirt tracks, hardly knowing where you're going, having to rely on a soaked through map for guidance, with only miniature huts for shelter here and there.

No surprise we ate a ton of fried rice after making it back to "$2! IS IT REAL?!?!?!" bicycle shop.

Ended the day off at Newton, which was pretty good :) All in all, a very exciting day. I can be melodramatic at times, so this is just to let you know that if I had to do it all over again, I would :)

I am getting so nostalgic :( I really am going to miss all these fantastic people. They've put up with my nonsense and gone through so much with me. These past four years have been awesome; thank you so, so much. Humping/thumping experiences aside, the times we've shared are so damn beautiful. Am already missing running through the corridors with newspaper dicks and singing at the top of our lungs, running to the drama studio after realising we're late for LD again, lepaking in class after school, random outings to Sushi Tei/Frolick, making fun of Whale, the countless class videos that can never see the light of day, going into hysterics about Pravie Baby + my fisheye, the crazy inside jokes, the fun and games, singing (or screaming) my composed songs, banding together against the freaks in class, banding together with the next class' awesome galpalz against the freaks in their class, ORANGE BOWL queueing (or not hehehe), etc etc etc.

Being a St Nicks girl for 10 years has been a great honour. No, really. I miss it already :(
